People! SLH!
This here is a 35”x45” hand-cut/pasted/printed COLLAGE collaboration
by Jack the Camera guy and Butcher.
It was created directly after TAI’s Sleeping with Giants tour, but never saw the light of day. Until now.
Tomorrow morning, Jack and I will be putting this delicious relic up for auction on eBay. We hope that it finds a safer, warmer place to live for the holiday season.
So stay tuned via tumblr or twitter over the next few days. And go bid!

So, hey there guys…

Sorry I’ve not been posting a whole lot, whether it be on tumblr or twitter, but the fact of the matter is… there is nothing to post about. It all seems to be pretty quiet in the land of TAI, which is really rather frustrating.

I wish I could give you guys updates about what the boys are up to, but I really don’t have that information, as annoying as that is.

Hopefully, there will be some news soon, and some new TAITV coming out cos, let’s be honest, we have all missed it a whole lot.

Until next time guys, which hopefully isn’t too far in the future,

TCDC Media Exclusive: The Academy Is… - Interview with bassist Adam T. Siska (a.k.a. Sisky Business)Interview conducted by: Tyler Common So your tour with KISS is coming to a close. The tour was very unexpected for many. How did TAI get on the tour and how has the response been?We aren’t exactly sure exactly how we wound up on the KISS tour.  To be honest, we were just as suprised as our fans were.  But we thought that the tour would be very exciting for us, and would give us a chance to play in front of big crowds who had never heard our music before.  The response was better than we could have ever hoped for, and we are very happy to have had the chance to play with KISS.Have you gotten the chance to talk or get tips from the guys in KISS?Yeah, we had a chance to sit down and talk to everyone in KISS. We were a bit intimidated at first, but they turned out to be incredibly humble and welcoming. They made us feel right at home on the tour. The advice that KISS gave us was to always give 110% of our energy to our live shows and to always focus on making the fans leave the show happy.Do you think we can expect a full headlining tour of some sorts next year?I think it would be safe to say that when we finish our new record and release it, that there will be some sort of headlining tour in the works.  We haven’t given too much thought to it yet, but as a band who really thrives at headlining shows,  I am certain we will put something together! There’s been tons of rumors flying around that you guys are breaking up. How do you respond to those rumors?False. The Academy Is… in no way breaking up.  If anything, these days we feel like we are just beginning. You guys have kind of taken a break from social-networking recently. Has this affected the band in a positive or negative light?I’m not too sure.  I am guessing that it has affected us positively and negatively.Though to honest, it has not been a deliberate thing.  Nobody in TAI is boycotting the social networking sites.  It is likely just that we are being creative and making music on a daily basis, and the internet can sometimes get in the way of that.We will tweet when the record is done!I know you guys have been preparing a fourth full-length. How has that been coming along? It is coming along very well!  We were able to write a lot of music while we were on the KISS tour.  We have been off the tour a little over a week now, and we have been demoing the songs we wrote on the tour.  They are sounding better than we could have imagined.  We are going to keep working for a while!I’ve heard that Andrew McMahon is doing some sort of co-writing with you  guys. Any specific songs that we may hear anytime soon? If so, what are some rough titles? No co-writes on this record, so far, with Andrew or anyone.  Though we would always be happy to get into a studio with the man.  I am thinking about paying him a visit in the studio, if we ever take a day off from our own project. How would you place your upcoming album between Almost Here, Santi & Fast Times? It would be impossible for me to point to any record that we have made and the past a find any similarities with whats going on with this record.  We have a new outlook and a new approach on the writing.  There will be similarities with all of our past records, but it will have a whole new feeling.I’ve been watching TAI TV for awhile now and have been wondering — will you guys be making new episodes in the near future? We will definitely be doing more TAI TV in the future.  As of right now, we are just putting all of our creativity into the record.  TAI TV has always been a way of curing boredom on tour.  We have fun with each other while we are making it, and we love to share that fun with the fans of the band.  There will come a time again when we not only be ready to share that with people, but at that time we also want to be able to share our new music with them too.I know The Butcher has been releasing some solo stuff under the name “The Animal Upstairs”. Can we continue to expect new music from him or a possible full length of some sorts? The Butcher is the most creative person I have ever known.  I have no doubt in my mind that he is going to continue working on songs for The Animal Upstairs.  If there is an idea in his head, it will certainly come out.  He has felt an amazing amount of support from TAI fans and has also made some Animal fans who weren’t even familiar with the music of TAI.  It is an exciting time.Where would you you like to see The Academy Is… as a band in a year from now?A year from now we will have a new record out. We will likely be on tour somewhere or in a studio again working on new music.  The goal for our band these days is to keep active and to write lots of good songs.  That is our goal for this year, next year and every year to come.Thank you guys so much for taking the time to do this with us. Is there anything else you’d like to say to your fans?No worries!  My message to our fans is to keep busy, work hard, and listen to lots of music!!!
